‘Influential figure’ in Brisbane’s three-peat

Michael Bowers’ exceptional qualities as a sports administrator have been praised after the former Brisbane Lions and Roar chief executive yesterday lost his two-year battle with cancer.
Bowers replaced Andrew Ireland as the Lions’ chief executive following the club’s 2001 premiership, and was at the helm as Brisbane completed their three-peat across 2002 and 2003.
Bowers departed the Lions in October 2010 following a review of the club’s operations and was quickly snapped up by Football Federation…
