From instigating one of footys most infamous brawls to being speared in the chest by a three-metre bamboo fishing spear, there are few horse racing trainers with a more colourful backstory than Alex Malliff.
Malliff is the far north Queensland trainer who has enjoyed a whirlwind ride with bush sensation Paniagua, a $600 buy that has taken him on a heady ride of eight straight wins with the latest coming at Doomben last Saturday.
