Fresh food will no longer go to waste and be thrown into landfill at food relief charity Gateway Care after it was granted funding for a new cool room.
The organisation in Pelican, NSW, received a 2020 Feed Appeal grant to build its capacity to store and distribute more fresh food and provide about 6000 more meals to people in need.
It was one of 52 charities to receive grants from the Feed Appeal, which was co-founded by food relief charity FareShare and media group News Corp Australia. This year it raised $1.5 million through Woolworths customers plus corporate and community donations and will help…
