When you play as many video games as I do, you develop a pretty strong grasp on your own preferences, particularly when it comes to aesthetics. I didnt have to play much of Ys Origins to know that, despite its solid action-RPG gameplay, its medieval fantasy look does nothing for me. Meanwhile, 9 Monkeys of Shaolin may not be the most innovative brawler in the world, but it leaves a strong impression with martial arts movie vibes pulled right from the 1970s.
