Flexigroup rebrands to humm as it seeks piece of BNPL action – Sydney Morning Herald
Flexigroup chief executive Rebecca James says the company’s move to change its name to humm is more than a makeover of its branding.
Flexigroup provides a range of BNPL finance options through the humm brand, which is the third biggest player in Australia’s BNPL sector, and its key segment is for bigger ticket purchase of more than $1000. “We are a heavy hitter in this space,” Ms James said.
BNPL operators have been cashing in on a structural shift away from credit cards to types of instalment loans that do not charge interest, with the providers making most of their revenue from fees paid by the merchant.
