Fish of the Week entry from Richard Wielaard… “Hi Bill. I am Paul’s support worker and am writing this on his behalf. Paul, in the photo, caught this whiting off the beach opposite Zachary’s on Gympie
Terrace. Paul, due to his condition, is not able to throw in, so I did this for him. Paul did the rest. Paul has several medical/health issues, one of which is which is a degenerative muscular disease. Paul is by far the oldest person in Australia to be still alive with this condition. It has left him wheelchair bound though. However, Paul is a wonderful character, who really likes to still do some nice things and who can make people happy with his smile. Yesterday, Paul really wanted to go fishing, so we went fishing. Paul caught a fish and was as happy as anyone could ever be. To be so happy and so proud is amazing and worth sharing. Paul got a nice applause from some ladies who were witnessing it. It was the nicest experience! The fish was caught and happily released back into the river. Thanks for reading the story. Kind Regards, Richy.” www.fishingnoosa.com.au/fishoftheweek.htm
