First COVID death in south-west of state linked to Melbourne visitor – The Age
A man in his 50s who died of COVID-19 in the south-west Victorian city of Portland on Thursday was among a cluster of eight people infected in an outbreak in the seaside district.

But health authorities, alarmed at how quickly an outbreak could spread, immediately began tracing possible contacts.
Residents in the district thought to have been in contact with the women in the area, or through chains of community contact, were tested and placed in quarantine until cleared.
