Fiji’s capital Suva has entered a 14-day lockdown as the Pacific island nation battled to contain a COVID-19 spike.

About 100,000 people in the city must stay in containment zones and non-essential businesses have been closed after the first community coronavirus cases in 12 months were detected.
The permanent secretary for health and medical services, James Fong, said Fiji has detected 12 new cases, as part of a growing outbreak in the country.
Officials have now been able to determine the source of a mystery transmission.
