Formula One’s governing body will introduce stringent new checks ahead of next month’s French Grand Prix, amid veiled accusations from world champion Lewis Hamilton that rivals Red Bull are enjoying a performance advantage from a flexible rear wing.
Hamilton made the claims at last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, suggesting Red Bull’s rear wing was flexing at high speed.
A rear wing that flexes on the straight will reduce the drag the car produces, increasing its top speed.
