Federal government considers forcing Australians to provide ID to use social media and dating sites – 7NEWS.com.au
Users would be required to show their driver’s licence or passport before opening a Facebook, Instagram or Tinder account.
Australians could be banned from creating anonymous social media and dating profiles under radical reforms being considered by the federal government.
The change would see people forced to submit identification, such as a passport or drivers licence, before setting up an account for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tinder.
