Fears of ‘life-threatening’ flooding as ex-cyclone Imogen sits over north Queensland

Heavy rain, bringing the risk of “life-threatening” flooding, is expected to continue falling on Queensland’s north as the system which brought tropical cyclone Imogen lingers.

Communities in the firing line are preparing for possible flooding, with grocery shelves emptying in Ingham as locals stock up on the essentials on Tuesday.

The ex-tropical cyclone is sitting between Georgetown and Ingham, north of Townsville, after crossing the coast at the Gulf of Carpentaria as a category one…
