Chief Medical Advisor to President Joe Biden Dr Anthony Fauci says herd immunity is “an elusive concept” and he took a “guestimate” the threshold would sit between 70 and 85 per cent of the American population.
“Rather than chase an elusive number that we’re not sure of, I’ve always said and continue to say that the best thing to do is vaccinate as many people as you possibly can as quickly as you possibly can,” he said.
