Farmers put economic growth on the menu but fruit and vegetable price hikes expected – Sydney Morning Herald
A large grain harvest last year helped boost agricultural production, but the prices of fruit and vegetables are set to rise.
Grain Trade Australia chief executive Pat OShannassy said a major program of exporting wheat into China was now in execution phase helping to drive up the result.
Theres good general demand across south-east Asia for grains and wheat, and also feed barley into Saudi Arabia, Mr OShannassy said.
