Facebooks seems to have kicked off Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp integration – Neowin
Facebook appears to have laid out its first step in combining its messaging services, like Mark Zuckerberg reportedly wanted to do, as Messenger and Instagram have seemingly been merged in an update.

Early last year, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was reported to be setting his sights on the integration of Messenger, Instagram Direct, and WhatsApp into a single messaging platform. The planned unification is supposed to allow cross-messaging among these services, with support for end-to-end encryption.
