Facebook took down all of Australia’s news content – and all my work went with it

A thousand questions ran through my mind when I learned of Facebook’s news restrictions.
How quickly will this ban come into effect? Will users be able to see my past posts? What even classifies as news?
It hit me on my way to work that my beloved student journalism group, UOWTV, might also have fallen victim.
There is no doubt that Facebook was UOWTV’s most successful platform, with more than 4,000 followers and significant engagement from the wider community.
In my experience, the best way to make a name as a student journalist has been via social media, particularly Facebook.
