Facebook News product may not work for regional publishers – The Australian Financial Review
Regional publishers are concerned Facebook’s News product may not be the right strategy for some outlets.

Facebook has signed deals with Seven West Media, Nine Entertainment (the owner of this masthead), News Corp and smaller publishers Solstice Media, Private Media and Schwartz Media.
However, the Silicon Valley giant still faces the threat of regulation to correct a power imbalance in the digital media sector with it expected the social behemouth will need to strike deals with a wider variety of publishers to avoid inclusion in the federal governments media code.
