F1 2020: Williams family to leave Formula One after Italian Grand Prix – Fox Sports
The Williams family will leave the team founded by Frank Williams after the Italian Grand Prix this weekend, the Formula One outfit announced on Thursday.
Claire Williams, who has acted as the de facto boss of the British team since 2013, revealed she would be departing her role as deputy team principal.
The Williams family founded the team in 1977 and has remained in control for its entire 43-year history before being sold to US-based investment firm Dorlinton this year.
With the future of the team now secured, this feels like the appropriate time for us to step away from the sport. Williams said.
