Exec’s rape conviction quashed, retrial ordered
Alan George Vico, a former Ports North executive, will have a retrial, after the Court of Appeal today upheld his appeal against the conviction.Vico was sentenced to five and a half years in jail for rape in August last year, after a judge alone trial.Trial Judge Julie Dick found Vico, who had picked up the drunken student from the side of a road, took her to a motel and raped her on September 21, 2018.The issue at the trial was about consent.Judge Dick said the woman was so heavily intoxicated when…
