EXCLUSIVE: Billy Slater hails Cameron Smith ‘the greatest’, hits back at critics – Wide World of Sports
‘This stuff is uncomfortable for them to hear’

Storm legend Billy Slater says even he wasn’t sure if Cameron Smith was going to retire over the off-season, rejecting the notion that his former teammate had drawn the decision out on purpose.
“I’m pretty good mates with Cam and I speak to him quite regularly. I know he’s been jostling with this decision for a while now, but he told me before he announced it today,” Slater told Wide World of Sports immediately after having his statue unveiled alongside Smith’s outside AAMI Park.
