Exclusion zone declared in Brisbane’s south
Queensland police have made an emergency declaration in Brisbane’s south, with the public urged to avoid parts of Sunnybank.
An exclusion zone was put in place due to a “police incident” on Thursday morning, a police spokesman said.
Police were called to the area just before 10.30am and negotiators are on scene.
The spokesman said the situation was not a “stand-off” as such, but officers were still making inquiries around the situation.
The boundary of the exclusion zone included Dyson Avenue, Geddes Place, Beenleigh Road and Ganda Place.
Residents have been urged to follow the advice of emergency services on the ground with members of the public advised to avoid the area.
