The new regulations affecting Caerphilly were announced after an increase in positive coronavirus cases
The Welsh Government has announced that Caerphilly county will enter a local lockdown on Tuesday, September 8.
It wasn’t without warning, with the local authority saying on Friday that the county had witnessed an “alarming rise” in new infections in the week leading up to that point.
Care homes in the borough closed their doors to visitors, people were asked not to travel “too far” outside the county, and a walk-in test centre was set up at Caerphilly’s leisure centre.
