Evade police, state border Wallangarra

Warwick detectives have charged a man who allegedly drove a stolen vehicle from New South Wales into Queensland after failing to stop at a border checkpoint at Wallangarra yesterday.
Around 9am a Mitsubishi sedan travelling north on the New England Highway crossed onto the wrong side of the road past concrete barriers, driving through the checkpoint at speed. The male driver, and sole occupant, failed to comply with police directions to stop and further attempts to intercept the vehicle were unsuccessful.
It is alleged the driver abandoned the vehicle in Junabee Road in Warwick before committing a burglary at a residence in East Street. He was confronted by the resident and then fled with a set of car keys.
