More than 1,100 hospital beds in Essex are currently being taken up by patients brought in because of coronavirus.
Essex County Council have released the latest figures, which show a stark increase of the strain being put on hospitals in Essex.
As of last Tuesday (December 29), there were 1,107 hospital beds taken up by confirmed coronavirus patients in Essex.
That’s a 45 per cent rise compared to seven days prior.
