A councillor has called for an “emergency evacuation” of an Essex hospital as it struggles to cope with rising covid patients.
Dan Nelson, councillor for the Southchurch ward, said there was no doubt that Southend Hospital was “on its knees”.
Just two days ago, a major emergency was declared as hospitals across Essex struggle to cope with increasing pressure brought on by rising Covid-19 cases.
The latest data from NHS England showed that 89.1 per cent of adult critical care beds were occupied…
