Essendon’s Dylan Shiel set to miss remainder of AFL season, Greater Western Sydney’s Stephen Coniglio to have ankle surgery
Essendon has been hit by a massive injury blow, with gun midfielder Dylan Shiel to have knee surgery that will rule him out for four months.

The news is not much better for Greater Western Sydney, with key trio Stephen Coniglio, Phil Davis and Matt de Boer all ruled out for extended periods.
Shiel tore the meniscus in his left knee in the Bombers’ round-two loss to Port Adelaide last month.
He made the decision to have surgery to repair the tear after an arthroscope found extensive damage.
