The maker of Eskimo Pie ice creams has decided on a new name three months after it acknowledged the products original name was offensive toward native Arctic communities.
From early 2021, the chocolate-covered vanilla ice cream bar will be called Edys Pie in the United States – a nod to one of the companys founders, Joseph Edy.
Eskimo Pies were introduced in Australia in 1923 and are currently sold in IGA and Foodworks stores nationally.
