England to come out of lockdown and into stricter tiered system, Johnson announces

England will return to a stricter three-tiered system of local COVID-19 restrictions when the nationwide lockdown ends next week, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced.
Key points:
- England will reintroduce a regional tiered system of restrictions when the lockdown ends on December 2
- Pubs will be allowed to open until 11pm, but under Tier 3 they’ll only be able to serve takeaway alcohol
- Mass testing will also be rolled out in regions under Tier 3 restrictions
