Saturday will be an emotional day for trainer John Thompson when its likely hell saddle up Sweet Deal for the last time ahead of the Group 3 Killahy Equine Hawkesbury Crown (1300m).
The six-year-old mare, a three-time Group 3 winner, is heading to the sales’ ring after Saturday. She will go under the hammer at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale on Friday week.
“She’s been a pretty special mare to the stable,” Thompson said.
