Porsche’s next-generation electric Macan SUV is due in Australian showrooms in 2022 – following its European debut in 2021.
Although the above image is a computer illustration – by KDesign AG – of how the new model might look (borrowing the front-end styling theme from the Porsche Taycan), the electric Macan will be built and sold alongside existing petrol variants, giving buyers a choice between petrol and electric power for the foreseeable future. Porsche dropped diesel from all its models two years ago.
The Macan is Porsche’s biggest selling model in Australia, accounting for half of all sales locally. The option of pure electric power is designed to broaden its appeal.
