EA Sports UFC 4 Features Kimbo Slice Inspired ‘The Backyard’ As New Location – SPORTbible
The new location is an ode to the legendary Kimbo Slice…

EA Sports UFC 4 will see the introduction of ‘The Backyard’ as a fighting location in what is an ode to the late Kimbo Slice.
Slice became an internet sensation after partaking in a number of bare-knuckle street fights and once even had BMF champion and UFC 4 cover star Jorge Masvidal come to his backyard to fight his protege.
Now, this new fighting environment will allow fighters to take it back to the streets and put their opponents away in brutal fashion. In this situation, judges don’t exist and it’s all about punishing the fighter opposite you.

Those who pre-order the UFC 4 game ahead of its August 14 release will not only get British boxing heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury as playable characters, they will also get a special backyard customisation pack that comes with the traditional attire.
We’re talking jean shorts, backyard MMA gloves, backyard camo shirt, skull cap and gold chain to channel your inner Kimbo.
“MMA is more than about the belt. It’s about who you are as a person and the determination that drives a fighter to go from unknown to selling out arenas all over the world,” Jorge Masvidal said.
“I grew up backyard fighting so it’s exciting for me to see that style of fighting come to UFC 4 where players can bring out their Gamebred mentality.”
If you don’t quite fancy that as a setting, players can also mix it up in ‘The Kumite’ – a cinematic location that looks like an underground temple you’d find in 80’s and 90’s MMA films.

There’s no word on whether ‘Fight Island’ will be added to the game in the near future after it stages UFC 251 event, but the UFC Apex facility, home of the contender series and recent behind-closed-doors Las Vegas card during the COVID-19 pandemic, has been included.
What’s more, EA Sports have also added ‘Action Venue’, an outdoor MMA venue “built to showcase where humble beginnings take their first step towards future MMA glory”.
The dulcet tones of former two-division world champion Daniel Cormier have been used in the commentary booth alongside UFC’s primary play-by-play guy in Jon Anik to give a fresh feel to fights in UFC 4.
