EA eliminating Origin brand with new EA Desktop app – Polygon
After nine years of Origin, EA will finally rebrand their PC platform as EA Desktop, complete with a new app for players. Players can use this new app to experience all of EA Play, which now includes EA and Origin Access.

Electronic Arts is ditching the Origin name for something new: EA plans to replace it with a revamped desktop app (called EA Desktop), and double down on the EA Play branding, according to a report from GamesBeat.
