AFL 360 co-host Gerard Whateley believes punishments on some recent dangerous tackles are impractical and don’t pass the “flinch” test as the footy world grapples with the harsher assessments.
Four of the five players that were cited for rough conduct (dangerous tackle) across Round 13 challenged their verdicts at the tribunal on Tuesday.
Port Adelaides Sam Powell-Pepper and Geelongs Luke Dahlhaus, who initially copped one-match bans for their respective tackles assessed as careless with medium impact and high contact on Hawk Ben McEvoy and Crow Matt Crouch, were both cleared by the tribunals jury.
