Defence grounds Super Hornet, Growler warplanes after aborted take-off at Amberley RAAF base
Defence has grounded 35 Australian warplanes after two crew members were forced to eject from a $75 million jet fighter during an aborted take-off at an air base in Queensland on Tuesday.

- All the RAAF’s Super Hornet and Growler jet fighters have been grounded
- Witnesses told the ABC they saw two pilots eject from one of the planes as it was about to take off on Tuesday
- No timeframe has been put on how long the planes will be out of action
Investigators are heading to RAAF Base Amberley outside Brisbane to figure out what led to the incident, which has caused damage to the F/A-18F Super Hornet.
