Dean Winter in from the cold, but at what cost to Tasmanian Labor party?
Clear air is a beautiful thing for political parties in an election campaign.
Preselection battles and party in-fighting are not.
After intervening to ensure the preselection of Kingborough Mayor Dean Winter, Tasmanian Labor Leader Rebecca White is hoping for the former.
A chance to campaign on policies, not internal politics.
But there’s no doubt some damage has already been done to Labor’s image of unity.
“If you can’t decide who you want to be on your team, how can you run the state?” Premier Peter Gutwein asked.
A query from the Liberal Leader that is likely to see much repetition and reiteration over the next three weeks.
