Deadly Denim label to parade Indigenous artists’ designs at New York Fashion Week
The red dust of Port Hedland is a world away from the gleaming catwalks of New York.

- The work of five Indigenous artists will be showcased in the Deadly Denim collection at New York Fashion Week next month
- The Pilbara’s Bobbi Lockyer says it is an “incredible” opportunity to show Indigenous art to the world
- She says her art is inspired by her hometown, her ancestors and her four young sons
But a piece of the Pilbara will be debuting on the global fashion stage next month thanks to local artist Bobbi Lockyer and Perth-based fashion designer Rebecca Barlow.
Ms Lockyer is a Ngarluma, Kariyarra, Nyulnyul and Yawuru woman.
She is also a designer and photographer and a mum of four boys.
