The findings could benefit patients by prompting an increase in the number of mobile stroke units in the field, study lead Dr. May Nour of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) said in a statement released by the university.
“The study results demonstrate that for every 100 patients treated with a mobile stroke unit rather than standard care later in the emergency department, 27 will have less final disability, including 11 more who will be disability free,” she said. “[We] are hopeful…
