Cruel disease rips through Queen Elizabeth’s horses – 9Honey
Five of Her Majesty’s highland ponies have died from equine grass sickness, leaving the Queen concerned about her beloved animals.
Queen Elizabeth, 94, comes from a long line of equestrians and keeps thoroughbreds for racing as well as highland ponies she breeds at her property in Balmoral.
Deadly equine grass sickness is caused by toxins that attack the nervous system, paralysing the animal’s digestive system leading to a painful death.
