‘Critical’ phase as Queensland record new COVID cases
One new local case of COVID has been detected in Queensland, after a 26-year-old man tested positive to the virus.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the new case on Saturday.
The new case is a close contact of the 26-year-old man and he lives in Strathpine.
Palaszczuk said the next two days were “critical”.
Eighteen other close contacts have been identified.
Five other cases were detected in hotel quarantine.
This is a developing story. More to come.
