Crime scene declared after suspicious fire at Gold Coast brothel

A crime scene has been set up after a Gold Coast brothel was engulfed in flames before dawn on Tuesday.
Police were called to the fire at Silks Brothel on Upton Street at Bundall about 4.30am.
The structure was alight when they arrived, with flames causing the front of the building to collapse.
The business was closed at the time of the fire and no one was injured. Police believed the blaze was suspicious.
Fire investigator Marcus Barrett told media at the scene the first of the crews, called in from both Southport and Surfers Paradise, arrived less than 10 minutes after the call.
Anyone with vision of the premises or further information that might assist the ongoing investigation was urged to contact police.
