Three years after being banned from international cricket for one year and stripped of any leadership responsibilities for two, Smith set the cat amongst the pigeon after telling News Corp he would be keen on the captaincy again.
But less than 24 hours later, national coach Langer hosed down the prospects of that happening anytime soon.
