Craig McLachlan’s defamation lawyer raises prospect of mediation – Sydney Morning Herald
The entertainer’s civil claim in the NSW Supreme Court has been revived after he was found not guilty of criminal charges by a Melbourne magistrate.

On Friday morning, the actors lawyer, Matthew Richardson, told Supreme Court judge John Sackar that, owing to the change in circumstances and passing of almost two years since the case had been stayed, mediation was an option.
Justice Sackar said a trial was expensive and would not necessarily produce the same result as the criminal proceedings against Mr McLachlan. The judge noted the burden of proof for the defamation defences being the balance of probabilities is lower than the criminal standard…
