Anyone who lives on or has recently visited the Gold Coast is being urged to watch for signs of coronavirus.
Fragments of COVID-19 have been detected in a wastewater catchment on the Gold Coast.
The discovery was reported at the Elanora treatment plant by Queensland Health on Friday afternoon.
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young is urging anyone with symptoms, regardless of how mild, to come forward for testing.
It is very important people with symptoms come forward right away and get tested we cant be complacent, were still in this pandemic, she said.
