With the rest of the world racing to roll out a COVID-19 vaccine, Europe is facing criticism for lagging behind other countries in getting people vaccinated.
In what was supposed to be a “great moment of unity”, the Europe Union’s 27 member states began rolling out vaccinations in late December.
But just weeks later, the nations are experiencing huge discrepancies when it comes to the speed and agility at which different countries have administered them.
“It’s like a league table now and you can see which country is doing the best,” Professor Luke O’Neill from Trinity College Dublin told the ABC.
