COVID-19 travel restrictions cited in WA’s worst January road toll in a decade
The father of a young woman killed in a car accident a week after her son turned one has urged drivers to pay attention, after January’s road toll climbed to its highest in a decade.

Authorities are attributing the spike in deaths on Western Australia’s roads in part to the number of people holidaying within WA due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
On Thursday night, a 53-year-old woman died after her car collided with several trees on Brookton Highway in Flint, south-east of Perth, bringing the state’s January road toll to 24.
