People who have suffered mild or asymptomatic Covid-19 infections carry ‘cellular immunity’ to the virus for six months, according to a study.
Scientists have described the findings as ‘reassuring’ – but stressed it did not mean people cannot be infected twice in some circumstances.
The small study, carried out by experts at Birmingham University and Public Health England, centred around the blood of 100 people who were not hospitalised when they contracted Covid-19.
