New vaccination centres
Major vaccination centres will be created at the Royal Exhibition Building and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, in order to vaccinate more people in the 1b priority group, which includes police, firefighters and emergency service workers.
Health Minister Martin Foley said in the first week of operation, each of those centres would be able to complete 4000 inoculations.
In the second week we hope to scale that up safely to 10,000 a week, he told ABC Melbourne.
