Covid 19 coronavirus: Major concerns as Pasifika, Māori make up 90 per cent of Auckland cluster – New Zealand Herald
Data shows nearly three quarters from the latest cluster are from the Pasifika community.
Health professionals are “very concerned” of a major outbreak in the Pasifika community with data showing they make up three quarters of the latest cluster.
Of the 58 cases so far linked to the Auckland August cluster, 74 per cent (43) are Pasifika, despite making up just 16 of the region’s population.
Mori are also overrepresented, making up 16 per cent (9) of the cases, compared to 11.5 per cent of the population.
The high rate of infections compares to just 8 and 9 per cent respectively…
