Court of Arbritration for Sport announces May dates for Sun Yang’s second hearing on doping ban
Chinese swimmer Sun Yang’s appeal against an eight-year ban for missing an out-of-competition doping test will take place in May with a new panel of judges, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said on Thursday.
Key points:
- Sun Yang will face a new hearing over his conduct at a 2018 out-of-competition doping test, just months out from the Tokyo Olympics
- Last December, the Swiss Federal Supreme Court upheld Sun’s challenge to his eight-year-ban, on ground of bias from one of the CAS arbitrators
- The second hearing will be held with a new CAS panel from May 24-28
