Newcastle veteran Tim Glasby has announced his retirement from the NRL and revealed the devastating concussion effects which ultimately ended his career.

Glasby is hanging up the boots at the age of 31 and with 139 NRL games and five Origins for Queensland to his name.
He hasnt played since Round 7 this year and hes battled months of lingering symptoms as the result of a number of head knocks over the course of his career.
On Sunday he fronted media and revealed just how severe the impact has been.
