There are fears undiagnosed coronavirus cases are lurking in Newcastle after sewage analysis yielded a surprise result.
Testing of samples from Newcastle and its surrounding suburbs showed significant traces of COVID-19.
Samples from about 200,000 residents in the region were tested.
Its quite a surprise for us to actually detect the virus in the sewerage at this time with only a small number of cases in the community, Hunter New England Healths Public Health Controller Dr David Durrheim said…
